Cosmetic surgery is enjoying something of a post-lockdown boom. A range of factors are driving the surge in interest. We’ve spent a lot of time looking at our own faces on Zoom, and at the (more attractive) faces of Instagram influencers, YouTube personalities, and Hollywood actors. Many of us have put on weight during the first and second lockdown, and might seek a tummy-tuck to correct the problem . And then there’s the availability of low-level interventions like lip-fillers, and digital gateways to the world of cosmetic surgery, like Instagram’s now-banned surgery features.

Businesses across the South West worked more closely together in 2020 despite the economic challenges of the pandemic.

A survey of over 100 companies by Collaborate South West found that over two thirds increased levels of collaboration with other organisations, with 80% believing collaboration to be extremely or very important to their business success moving forward.

A similar number 64% said the experience of lockdown has made them believe collaboration for business is more important than ever before.

Dame Helen Mirren is urging residents in the South West to help raise money for homeless and vulnerable people in an appeal launched by Just Eat and Social Bite. Other well-known faces including Rob Brydon and Sir Chris Hoy have posted videos backing the new Christmas Meal Appeal launched by Just Eat in partnership with charities Social Bite & FoodCycle .

The appeal comes after reports detail the increasing issue of homelessness in the UK, and the increased pressure and reliance on charities as the nation deals with the economic and social fallout of the Covid pandemic....

Budding astronomers will be given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a truly special celestial event in the run-in to Christmas.

This month, the gas giants Saturn and Jupiter - the two largest planets in our Solar System - will be so close in the sky that they’ll both be visible through a telescope eyepiece at the same time.
