In February, the first corporate Esports festival in the Southwest was held in Exeter. A collaboration between Tech Southwest and Exeter College, anyone who has not encountered the concept of Esports before may have assumed it to be a niche event. Yet this gathering attracted a huge swathe of sponsorship from local technology companies. All were eager to align themselves with this forward-thinking, progressive, and popular pastime. Trading Standards to 'test' more petrol pumps for accuracy this summer

Trading Standards will increase the number of routine petrol forecourt checks across Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, and Torbay this summer.

Usually around a dozen forecourts a year are tested – this summer up to an extra 20 will be tested, with a possibility of more if needed.

Fuel pumps are regularly tested by Heart of the South West Trading Standards Service to ensure that the pumps are legal.

The checks test if the amount of fuel a pump is showing the motorist is being dispensed is actually going into the vehicle.

An Exeter-based charity is celebrating after a £1,000 donation from a local housebuilder to help refurbish its charity shop.

The month of September has been dedicated to celebrating ‘Local Living’ by InExeter, the Business Improvement District for Exeter.

In early August 2022, members of Exeter Philharmonic Choir will walk the St. Boniface pilgrimage route from Crediton to Exeter, singing as they travel.

The 'Pilgrims' will perform perform concerts at Holy Cross Crediton on Friday 5th August, at St. Cyr & St Julitta, Newton St. Cyres and at the Church of Our Lady, Upton Pyne on Saturday 6th August.

The Pilgrimage will conclude with a concert in Exeter Cathedral on Sunday 7th August at 2 pm with a programme of songs of the soul, from Bruckner and Byrd to folk songs and spirituals.
