Devon's position as the top recycling county in the UK is being celebrated to mark the 10-year anniversary of the Don't Let Devon go to waste campaign.

Devon enjoys a recycling rate of 55% (2010/11) making the county the highest recycler in the UK

To celebrate its success and to thank the residents of Devon, the Devon Authorities Waste Reduction and Recycling Committee is hosting a special ceremony; The Recycle Devon Thank You awards.

Christmas gift ideas at Woodbury's annual winter fayre

Woodbury's annual winter fayre takes place on Saturday 17th November from 2pm at Woodbury village hall.

There will be colourful stalls, great ideas for Christmas, fancy goods, cakes, jams, chutneys, plants, books and more on sale.

There will also be a visit from Father Christmas, face painting and games for children.

Admission 50p, children free. Proceeds to St Swithun's and St Andrew's Churches.

Clyst Valley Choral Society’s autumn concert will be a musical celebration of royal occasions past and present with music from weddings, coronations and jubilees.

Amongst the items will be Handel’s Zadok the Priest, I Was Glad by Parry and others, and Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens (as performed at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding).

The concert will be performed on Saturday 24th November at St Margaret’s Church, Topsham at 7.30pm and on Sunday 25th November at Holy Trinity Church, Exmouth at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £7 from Topsham Books or £8 on the door.
