The Irish indie folk band, fronted by Conor O’Brien, have been compared to Bright Eyes and even U2: with O’Brien’s carefully crafted indie-folk being underpinned by an eerie sense of disquiet.
Their debut album ‘Becoming a Jackal’ was released in 2010 and was shortlisted for both the Mercury Prize and the Choice Music Prize. Their follow-up album, {Awayland}, was released this year to critical acclaim.

A Boston ensemble led by vocalist Robert Fisher and guitarist Paul Austin. Originally formed by Robert Fisher and Paul Austin in 1995 in Boston, Massachusetts, the band operates as a collective, with vocalist Fisher the only permanent member. Up to thirty other musicians occasionally contribute to the band, both in the studio and during live performances. Managing at turns to sound skeletal, fully fleshed and all stages in-between, this is elemental music that does not fear simplicity.

The latest film from François Ozon (Potiche) is a compelling yet chilling and ever-so-self-aware thriller that blurs the lines between fiction, and reality. When disillusioned teacher Germain gets hooked on 16-year-old Claude’s stories which revolve around a fellow student’s family, especially the gorgeous mother, he encourages him to write more of his invasive, slightly sinister fiction. When the stories start to focus on Germain’s wife (Kristin Scott Thomas), however, things take a turn for the weird.
