The Budleigh Jazz Festival 2013 brings three nights of live Jazz to suit all tastes to the town of Budleigh Salterton.

The exciting line-up this year features:

Friday 19 April - Both of the Devon Jazz Youth Orchestras 1 and 2

These students will display their abilities under the direction of Brian Moore. They play big band arrangements including those from the Count Basie Band.It is not often one can hear a live big band playing Jazz today.

Rathbones Spring Concert Series: Emma Johnson Clarinet & John Lenehan Piano

Emma Johnson has an international career as a soloist. She has performed across Europe, the USA and the Far East, as well as in Africa and Australia in venues such as the Kennedy Center, the Concertgebouw, the Louvre and the Barbican.

In Britain she has achieved particular popularity with her two discs on the Universal label, Voyage and The Mozart Album, which spent many weeks at the top of the Classical Charts. She is joined by her regular duo partner, the distinguished pianist John Lenehan.

Crediton Folk Weekend

A weekend of folk music and entertainment held mostly at indoor venues in the village of Cheriton Fitzpaine - just a short drive from Crediton, Tiverton and Exeter.

As well as ticketed concert events, there will be free entertainment around the village, such as Morris Dancers, for all the family to watch and enjoy.

Entertainment takes place on Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday lunchtime.

The Wonder Stuff

This West Midlands-based band gained a significant following in the late 1980s with two critically acclaimed albums, The Eight Legged Groove Machine and Hup.

Mainstream chart success followed with their third album in 1991, which included the hits The Size of a Cow, and Dizzy performed with Vic Reeves.

The band split in 1994, but after a seven year sabbatical, they reformed and continue to play their old numbers, along with new material.

Dogs Day Out in aid of the Dog's Trust

It's a great day for man’s best friend this Sunday (14 April) as East Devon District Council hosts a special Dog’s Day Out in Phear Park, Exmouth.

From 10am – 4pm people and their canine companions can enjoy a huge range of free activities in aid of The Dog’s Trust. Free micro chipping, a fun dog show, agility displays, a tombola and free giveaways are all on the cards as the council promotes responsible dog ownership in a fun, friendly way.
