On 22nd October 2012, a local team of intrepid explorers returned home from their Himalayan adventure where they raised in excess of £5,300 for charity.

Friends of Higher Cemetery: Grave Perspectives

A community art exhibition is being held by the Friends of Higher Cemetery.

Free family history research on offer at new Heritage Centre

World Stroke Day highlights the importance of recognising TIA signs

Thousands of people are at risk of stroke because they fail to recognise the signs of a Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA, also known as mini-stroke), according to the findings of a new poll(i) launched today on World Stroke Day (29th October 2012).

A Stroke Association survey of over 183 members of the public in the South West, conducted by ICM Research, revealed that:

Express & Echo owners 'in talks over future of business'

The newspaper group which owns Exeter's Express & Echo is widely reported to be in talks over the future of the business. Northcliffe Media is apparently in negotiations over a deal to pool its regional titles with another company. Both the Sunday Times and Financial Times said the deal was being led by David Montgomery, the former Mirror Group CEO. The FT said talks were at an advanced stage but sources warned they could still fall through.
