Children have extra reason to celebrate this Christmas with the re-opening of a children's play area.
The play space is tucked away off Quarry Park Road in the Broadfields area, and is heavily used by many pupils from Walter Daw Primary School which is located immediately adjacent to the site.
Although well used, the site was in need of some attention as most of the play equipment was either showing its age, or had already reached the end of its useful life and been removed.
The refurbishment has seen the installation of a new multi-play unit providing opportunities...
Weeks back I had a bit of a rant about singledom being a perceived state of deficiency. Well, I’m back on my high horse about it again, writes our regular blogger Ali.
‘What’s caused this?’ I hear you cry… probably literally sobbing as you realise I’m off on a rant again. Well – it was a conversation with a bloke who basically said that he didn’t believe me when I said that I was happy being single. Of course, an hour of being brow beaten later, he backed off but I remain indignant at the thought and so, yet again, I’m going to use this blog as a low cost form of therapy to...

In order to protect both our patients and visitors we need to restrict the number of people who visit patients. On all of our wards (with the exceptions of ITU, Bramble Unit, Maternity and Neonatal Unit where the usual...

For millions of people, the sight of the famous Coca-Cola Christmas advertisement hails the beginning of the festive season.
And despite the wet weather, Bedford Square was transformed into a snowy winter wonderland from 1pm to 9pm complete with Christmas trees and festive helpers on hand to serve chilled Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero, and the Coca-Cola brass band will be leading a selection of seasonal carols in the magical setting.
Final arrangements are being made at Exeter Airport to handle passengers over the Festive period when fifteen thousand people are expected to use the airport.
Several flights are departing on Saturday to airports in the Alps for winter sports enthusiasts and although bookings to Geneva, Chambery and Salzburg have been filling up since the snowfall, there is still some availability with Flybe, Crystal and Inghams for those who want to spend New Year in the snow.
A flight to Alicante, also with Flybe, departs on Saturday and winter sun seekers are also off on Sunday’s fully...
