Exeter homelessness charity’s “Coldplay” Christmas film goes live

The first high profile Christmas campaign produced for the city’s homelessness charity will launch across the social media network today, in a five-week fundraising bid to help support people without a home in Exeter.

Illegal vapes with a street value of approximately £7400 worth has been seized from a store in Plymouth following an operation by Trading Standards and Devon and Cornwall Police.

Heart of the South West Trading Standards and Devon and Cornwall Police have visited a number of knife retailers as part of the Police’s Operation Sceptre campaign. Trading Standards were ensuring that traders were following age restrictions on knife sales.

The British Science Association (BSA) and the University of Exeter are pleased to announce that the British Science Festival will take place in Exeter across four days next September.

Conversion of county council's vehicle fleet to EV continues

More than 28 tonnes of carbon dioxide will be prevented from going into the atmosphere thanks to Devon County Council’s (DCC) eleven new electric vans.

It’s estimated that the vans, which were delivered last week, will each save 2.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.

They are replacing diesel vans that had come to the end of their lives – they will now be sold at auction.

It’s all part of DCC's ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030 - between 2013 and 2020/2021 DCC’s carbon emissions fell by 53 per cent.
