One fire fighting appliance from Cullompton fire station attended reports of a car on fire outside Mcdonald's restaurant at the Cullompton services at 6.37am today.
Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle well alight.
Crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire which was located in the engine compartment.
Meanwhile, crews attended reports of a fire at the Red Lion House at Membury in Axminster last night.
Appliances from Chard, Colyton and Honiton were called to the scene at 6.29pm.
Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a suspect (pictured) after an attempted robbery in St Thomas, Exeter. The incident happened on Monday 5 August at around 9.10am outside the Post Office in Okehampton Road. The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Whipton, approached the Post Office to pay in the takings from a local store when she was approached by a white man from behind who was riding a push bike. Farmland prices in the South West hit yet another record high during the first half of 2013 and have now more than trebled in less than a decade, according to the latest RICS Rural Land Market Survey H1 2013.
During the first six months of the year, the cost of farmland jumped to £7,250 per acre across the region, hitting a record high for the eighth consecutive period. The cost of land is now more than three times that of the same period in 2004 when an acre cost just over £2,300.
