Baxter names Chiefs side to face Glasgow

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has called on his side to “front up” for their final pre-season test against Glasgow Warriors at Sandy Park tomorrow (3pm).

With warm-up victories over Scarlets (23-15) and Bristol (51-7) already secured in the past fortnight, the Chiefs will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent record against the visiting Scotsmen.

With just over a week to go until Exeter’s Aviva Premiership opener at Northampton Saints, Baxter hopes to use this latest work-out as the perfect preparation tool ahead of their 2013-14 campaign.

Car crashes into petrol pumps

Emergency crews were called to a petrol station in Rockbeare near Exeter today after a car crashed in to two pumps.

The incident happened at just past midnight. No one was trapped and one casualty was transported to hospital by ambulance.

A fire appliance from Middlemoor attended and used a foam jet as a precautionary measure and made the vehicle safe.

At 2.41am, Police recontacted the Fire Service to reattend the incident as more fuel had spilt as the pumps were being removed by contractors for repair. One fire appliance from Danes Castle Exeter attended.

Home is where the art is for Sapphire Living

Sapphire Living Space invited special guests to the launch of Wave, an art exhibition by Christine Allison.

The luxury kitchen and bathroom showroom often stages events in its amazing space, opposite Dart's Farm near Topsham.

Christine's artwork is going to be at the Sapphire Living Space showroom until September 23rd.

Co-owner Mark Newbery said: "Everyone is welcome to come along, enjoy Christine's work and browse around the showroon."

The Exeter Picturehouse has announced a new season of live broadcasts by satellite from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Tickets for a brand new season of ten live productions from the Royal Opera House on the big screen at the Exeter Picturehouse are now on general sale.

Former City player set for Wolves move

Sky Sports has reported that former Exeter City defender Scott Golbourne is undergoing a medical at Wolves.

The highly-rated 25-year-old has been a target for Kenny Jackett who is keen to bolster his squad before the close of the transfer window.

Golbourne joined Barnsley from Exeter in January 2012. The fee for his eimpending transfer is undisclosed.

The signing of Golbourne has been prompted by Stephen Ward's departure to Brighton.

September sees the latest ‘Great Devon Breakfast’ events taking place all over the county in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity. In 2012, this event raised nearly £10,000 for FORCE, and our April venues have already brought in a fantastic £5,000 this year.
