Exeter city centre’s Christmas lights switch-on event is just a week away.
The Christmas lights ceremony, next Thursday, will see Rob Baxter, Exeter Chiefs Head Coach; Paul Tisdale, Manager of Exeter City Football Club and members of the Lympstone Military Wives Choir taking centre stage to jointly switch on the city centre’s Christmas lights at 6.30pm.
Joining them on stage will be the Lord Mayor of Exeter.

Plymouth is again preparing to host one of the most exciting events in the UK: the internationally renowned British Firework Championships.
The dates for the 2014 event have now been confirmed as Tuesday 12 August and Wednesday 13 August.

Police found smoke bombs and vehicles suspected to be stolen in Paignton yesterday.
The property in Broadsands Court was searched yesterday when a man and a woman failed to stop for police when driving through Torquay yesterday morning.
Police followed the car and arrested a 21-year old man from Wales and a 17-year old woman from Brixham.
They were taken into custody in Torquay police station and are still being held there until they can be interviewed.

The exciting new music venue strictly for the over 25’s is the brainchild of local businesswoman Rebecca Weaver. Anita the Akita formerly known as Bullet - a very unsuitable name for a beautiful girl who was found wandering the streets of Bradford. She was picked up as a stray and placed in the dog pound and given seven days for her owner to find her.
It was discovered she was micro chipped and the owner was contacted. He claimed that he had sold her on but nevertheless he would come and collect her, presumably to sell her on again.
He didn’t show up and Anita’s time was up. Seven days had gone by and she was scheduled to be put to sleep.
