Neil Parish, MP for Tiverton and Honiton, visited the headquarters of emergency response couriers Devon Freewheelers on Friday 20th December 2013 to learn more about the charity and the service it provides.
Neil Parish was surprised to learn that the charity receives no funding from the Government, despite the fact that the out of hour’s courier service undertakes an average of 16 emergency call outs every day.
Devon Freewheelers is a charity delivering urgent medical samples, drugs, surgical equipment in Devon for the NHS at no charge.

The recently installed 180kW Herz biomass boiler at Dartmoor National Park Authority's High Moorland Office in Princetown provides heat and hot water for the Visitor Centre as well as the offices of the National Park Authority and Duchy of Cornwall. It was installed by the Ashburton based 5D Group.

Two appliances from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to a lorry blaze near the A35 outside of Honiton yesterday ( Saturday 12th January).
Crew were callled to the blaze, which took place near the BP Garage garage on the A35 outside of Honition, in the early hours of Saturday ( 12th January) morning
Upon arrival crews confirmed one artic tractor unit well alight, crews got to work using two hose reel jets and one compressed air foam branch.

Exeter City fell to a stoppage-time winner at the hands of Bristol Rovers, as the Pirates triumphed 2-1 at the Memorial Stadium.

The identity of a 52-year old man, believed to be homeless, who died shortly after being found unconscious in a laundrette has still not been confirmed.
Police officers were called to a popular laundrette in Well Street on Saturday 11th January at 12.20pm.
The man was alive when police attended the scene, but died later Saturday afternoon.
