Everys Solicitors boost investment management team

Everys Solicitors has boosted its investment management team with the addition of research analyst Vince Hawkes.

Mr Hawkes has joined Everys from Rathbones where he was as an investment manager responsible for managing portfolios for private clients and trustees.

He will join investment manager Tom Leahy to further develop the firm’s investment processes and management services.

Mr Leahy spent 17 years working in the City of London where he held various senior roles in equity research and investment management while Mr Hawkes has 25 years’ investment experience....

Ed Miliband in Exeter: Government must 'cough up' resilience money

Labour leader Ed Miliband visited Exeter today to see the proposed site of resilience work at Cowley Bridge Junction.

The site was badly affected by floods in the winter storms of 2012/13 causing the main rail line into the South West to close for a several weeks.

Following the line closures, last year, the government promised to spend over £31 million on projects to improve the resilience of the South West’s rail network most of the money promised was never delivered and work never took place.

During February half term the National Trust East Devon Rangers will be running another ‘family muck in’ day at Lower Halsdon Farm, Exmouth.

The session will take place on Tuesday 18 February between 10.30am and 2.30pm and families can stay for the whole session or just an hour or so to help the rangers cut back the hedges ready for laying.

Neil Parish MP Supports Charity’s Fuel Poverty Campaign

Neil Parish, MP for Tiverton and Honiton, has pledged his support for ‘Mind the Gap’, a campaign aiming to raise awareness of the help available for people affected by fuel poverty.

The campaign, run by the national charity Turn2us, is focusing on the growing gap between household incomes and the cost of energy bills, and is highlighting the support available to those who are struggling to pay their energy costs.

The re-opening of the popular Street Food Market at Exeter’s Guildhall Shopping Centre has been postponed until Friday 6 March due to the weather.

The market will be open on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then every Friday, Saturday and Sunday thereon-in.
