Iolanthe focuses on Strephon, a half mortal and half immortal shepherd. When Phyllis catches Strephon with his mother, Iolanthe, who on account of being immortal looks the same age as Strephon, chaos and confusion ensues.

Tony Hawks: Fridges, Frolics and Films

In this entertaining show, Tony Hawks combines storytelling, stand up, musical comedy and film clips to create two hours of fun. Amongst other things Tony will recount the amusing and sometimes fraught story of how he went from being ‘Comedian and author’ to ‘Comedian, author and film-maker’. His hilarious tales of how he became an independent film maker - producing both Round Ireland With A Fridge and Playing The Moldovans At Tennis - will be peppered with the wry observations that have made him such a hit on Radio 4’s Just A Minute and I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.

The ROC Exeter Buddy Scheme is hosting its first movie night on Saturday 15 March at the Riverside Centre, Okehampton Street, Exeter. This is an evening for everyone – all ages, all families and all those affected by addiction. You are invited to come along at 6.30pm for popcorn and soft drinks, followed by a screening of the film 'Anonymous People', a moving documentary about recovery.

Tragic death in Sidmouth after car collapses on man

A Sidmouth man in his 30s tragically died this weekend after a car he was working on collapsed onto him. Two crews of Firefighters from Sidmouth fire station were called to the man’s family home on Betjeman Close at around 6:30pm on Saturday evening. The crews found the man had already been released from the fallen car and gave CPR to the badly injured man. Fire crews then called for police assistance to take the man from the scene. A police helicopter arrived on scene at 7:30pm and airlifted the man to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A file is being...
