Devon County Council pass controversial budget

A controversial budget making cuts of more than £28m to Devon County Council’s spending has been passed at a full council vote.

The budget outlines several significant cuts to the council’s services including the provision of day centres, residential children’s homes and the closure of youth clubs run by Devon’s youth service. Stage by Stage triumphs at Dance Festival

Stage by Stage, Exeter's own theatre arts school, has won a string awards at the Exeter Dance Festival during the half term holidays.

Two Devon brothers have gone to Paris in search of love – but there’s a sting in the tail.

The two are venomous stingrays from Living Coasts, Torquay’s coastal zoo.

After the success of last year’s festival, plans are well underway for the second year of Exefest – Exeter Canalside Folk Festival.

Spate of motorcycle thefts in Devon

Police are appealing for information after a spate of off-road motorcycle thefts in the Teignbridge area over the last weekend. Some five bikes worth £34,000 were taken in one raid from a remote location in Tedburn St Mary. The five bikes belong to motocross freestyle professional Jamie Sqiubb (pictured) whose bikes are his livelihood. Taken were a green 2014 Kawaski KXF450F, a blue 2011 Yamaha YZ250, a red Gasgas 250 trial bike and two red Honda CRF 50cc mini bikes.
