Chiefs side to face Bath

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter insists getting the "nuts and bolts right" in his side's performance will be the key to them finally seeing off arch rivals Bath Rugby this weekend.

The two Westcountry clubs lock horns for a fourth time this season on Sunday when they meet in the LV= Cup semi-final at the Recreation Ground (1pm).

With Bath triumphant on the previous three occasions this term - as well as holding an 11-game unbeaten sequence over the Chiefs since 2010 - it's little wonder that Baxter and his team are keen to shake the monkey off their back.

Emergency services attend A30 car blaze

Representatives from both Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Devon and Cornwall Police attended an incident which saw a car found well a light on the A30 between Honiton and Monkton.

An appliance from Hontion attended the incident which took place at just before 4pm today ( Saturday 8th March).

On arrival crews found a car in the middle of the carriageway well alight. Crews went to work extinguishing the fire using Compressed Air Foam, Hose Reel Jets and two Breathing Apparatus wearers.

Fire at Exeter's B&Q

An appliance from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service was called to a small fire in a B&Q canteen.

Exeter's Sowton B&Q suffered a small fire in the canteen at 12.15pm, with an automatic fire alarm alerting crews of the incident.

The canteen was no longer on fire when crews attended and the cause is believed to be accidental.

Emergency Services called to City Centre crash

Representatives from both Devon and Cornwall Police and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attented after a crash took place in Paris Street, Exeter.

The crash happened at just after 2.30pm today ( Saturday 8th March).

Fire services were called after police discovered the car involved was leaking fuel and smoking following its collision.

An appliance from Danes Castle attended the incident and made the vehcile safe.

Exeter YMCA's Sleep Easy event looks set to be the biggest yet

Almost 200 members of the public have signed up to be a part of this sponsored sleep out on Saturday 15th March at The Guildhall Shopping Centre, Exeter.

Event organiser, Sophie Hodge, says “we are overwhelmed by the support of the community. So many people have come together to make a difference in the lives of homeless young people and I just want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to each of them.”

Exeter Golf and Country Club have announced they are the 2014 sponsors of the VIP area of the Exeter Festival of Food and Drink.

The festival, which is growing year on year returns to Exeter Castle and Northernhay gardens for the eleventh year and will welcome over one hundred artisan food producers from across the region bringing with them their finest food and drink for visitors to stock up on during the three day event from 25th – 27th April. The Kenn Art Show 21 - 23 March

The Kenn Art Show was founded in 2006 and, since then, it has grown into a successful and prestigious bi-annual event. Profits from the show will be going to St. Andrew’s Church in Kenn, and to the Kenn Centre, where the show is taking place this year.

Funding boost for Seaton Jurassic

Seaton Jurassic, the new exciting visitor attraction for East Devon, received a massive boost today (7 March) with the award of a Coastal Communities Fund (CCF) grant of over £300,000.

The Westcountry’s fastest growing female network is leading South West support on International Women’s Day.

The digital campaign run by Leading Women UK aims to inspire change on Women's Day by asking women to share their top piece of advice on how to #BeYourselfAtWork.
