Two academics from Exeter University have been named as part of New Generation Thinkers 2014, a national scheme designed to turn ground-breaking ideas into fascinating broadcasting.
BBC Radio 3 and the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s (AHRC) confirmed today that Dr Daisy Hay, a lecturer in English, and Dr Alun Withey a medical historian have both been chosen to become academic broadcasters of the future.

Two women who died in a coach in Cornwall have been named locally as Margaret Luxton and Carol Mundoon. The women died when the coach they were travelling in hit a wall on the A387 near Looe on Tuesday 13 May. 13 people were hospitalised by injuries received in the crash but have now been discharged. Others with minor injuries were assessed and treated by paramedics at the scene. The coach was hired for a trip organised by Exmouth Age Concern.
