Housing drop-in sessions resume in Exmouth

Following concerns about the safety of East Devon District Council's Housing Service staff during drop-in sessions at Exmouth Town Hall, a review has now been held and the full service will be reinstated with effect from Thursday (29 May).

The sessions were suspended last week after a serious incident involving EDDC staff and a housing client. Appointment sessions were not affected.

Police appeal following death of young Exeter girl

Police are appealing for information following the death of 12-year-old Nicole Hartup who fell from a wall at an Exeter youth club on Friday night.

Emergency services were alerted around 8.50pm to a report of the young girl having fallen from an eight foot wall at the rear of the Phoenix Youth Club, off Burnthouse Lane, Exeter.

'Massive' reduction in Child arrests in Devon and Cornwall

The number of children arrested by Devon and Cornwall police has been cut by nearly 75% in the last five years according to a new report released today.

The report from the Howard League for Penal Reform, a national charity, says that the number of children arrested fell from 5,495 to 1,431 between 2008 and 2013.

The Devon County Show is offering a full refund to everyone who bought tickets in advance but was unable to use them on Saturday, May 24. The decision was made at a Board of Management meeting of the Devon County Agricultural Association (DCAA) held on Monday, May 26. Woman rushed to RD&E after Tiverton collision

A woman has been rushed to RD&E hospital following a serious collision near Tiverton. Emergency services were called to the scene, near Tiverton Golf Club, at 8:37am this morning (Tuesday 27 May). Two vehicles were involved in the collision one of which had left the road and overturned in a field. One casualty was taken by ambulance to RD&E hospitial to be treated for head and chest injuries. Post Hill is currently closed in both directions between the Uplowman Road junction and the Crown Hill junction. A male casualty was treated for injuries at the scene.

Exeter Golf and Country Club win over East Devon, Tiverton and Woodbury in latest round of the Exe League.

It was Exeter’s turn to host the second leg of the round robin format of teams including East Devon, Woodbury park and Tiverton. With 3 foursomes pairs and 3 Fourball betterball pairs, and all scores to count, no team can afford a slip up.
