All cardio training is not equal. Whilst any form of exercise is better than none at all, studies have repeatedly shown that interval training is more effective for weight loss that steady state cardio. That is, you will burn more body fat overall by running fast for one minute, steady for two minutes and repeating several times than you will if you run at a steady pace for the duration of your workout. You don’t have to limit this approach to running either – you can adopt it on the bike, rowing machine, X-trainer, in a circuit class etc. The bottom line:...
A Devon-based company is on course for a record-breaking year with hundreds of students heading to Devon in the coming weeks.
As the World Cup reaches the next exciting stages, The Training Partnership Limited (TTPL) is welcoming over a hundred students and graduates from Germany, France, Italy and Spain, and close to 300 arrivals in total by the end of July.
More companies in Devon are partnering with TTPL to provide work placement opportunities, and more host families are needed to offer accommodation in Exeter, Torbay and across South Devon.
Imagine you were one of the founders of huge companies like Apple, Microsoft or Google, and you were worth billions. Of course, most of us would make sure that our families are taken care of. But, do you have any idea what would you buy or do with the rest of the money? Check out these 7 things you could do if money was no object.

Forget yachts, they are too small. Instead, you can purchase a full-blown cruise ship. You could easily take hundreds, if not thousands of your friends and their friends, and travel the world in style. How’s that for an...
It was only a few months ago that severe bad weather caused havoc in the South West. Today's heavy rain has resulted in flooding in certain areas of Devon, with the Met Office predicting more bad weather to come.
Firefighters were called to Kenton earlier today after the weather caused flooding inside a commericial property. Crews helped to remove the water to ensure it didn't come into contact with electricity.
The heavy rain fall has also resulted in travel disruption on the A381 Devon. The Western By-Pass is flooded in both directions between the Plymouth Road junction...

Research commissioned by The Times WWI Centenary Facsimile has revealed the British that the public has a good grasp on some key facts about World War One, but there are areas for improvement.
Nearly seven in ten (69%) people knew that Franz Ferdinand was the Archduke of Austria-Hungary, while 57% knew that Britain became involved in WWI because of a treaty with Belgium to defend it if it was invaded. However 18% thought that Britain became involved to stop the rise of Nazi Germany, while 17% believed that Hitler was the leader of Germany at the time, and 19% thought he was only a...
