Recorded crime remains static across Devon and Cornwall, new figures released today (17 July), show.
The figures show an average increase of one crime a day in the last year.
Year on year, recorded crime up to June 30, 2014, showed an increase of 0.4 per cent – an increase of 345 offences.

A new feminist group called Exeter Feminists has been created. The group, which aims to promote gender equality in the community, hope to help local charities and will hold regular meetings.
Exeter Feminists was created by Ellis Taylor after discovering a lack of feminist groups in the city.

Prospective MP for Exeter Dom Morris has welcomed the announcement that Exeter Cathedral will receive a grant from the First World War Centenary Cathedral Repairs Fund.
Dom met with the Minister for Culture Sajid Javid in parliament ahead of last week's announcement, hoping that Exeter's historic focal point wouldn't miss out.

A real rarity has been discovered at a Devon nature reserve.
The rarity in question is an aptly named dragonfly known as the scarce chaser. It was seen recently at Devon Wildlife Trust’s Old Sludge Beds nature reserve on the outskirts of Exeter. The charity’s site is a well-known haven for local wildlife, but the sighting of a scarce chaser still came as something of a surprise. Local charity Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau today publishes its latest advice trend statistics for June 2014 which shows that it helped 1,515 clients directly with advice in the first three months of the financial year.
The amount of advice that the charity has been able to provide has increased in the following areas compared to the same period the previous year:
Dom Morris has welcomed new figures showing that 597 (37%) fewer people are relying on Jobseeker’s Allowance in Exeter compared to this time last year, with the number of people in work in the South West up by 139,000 since 2010.
Since 2010 the number of people on unemployment benefits is down by 813 – a 44% drop.
Dom said: “It’s excellent news that since 2010 there are 813 fewer people in Exeter relying on Jobseeker’s Allowance.
"That means more people with the prospect of a better and brighter future ahead of them.
