This seal pup needs a name!

The tiny South American fur seal was born at Living Coasts in Torquay early on the morning of Tuesday 3 June.

When her mother was unable to produce milk, zoo keepers stepped in to feed her creamy fish milkshakes around the clock.

Now, Torquay’s coastal zoo is giving everyone who visits the chance to vote for her name.

Living Coasts’ Marketing Manager Katherine Sobey explained: “We have a shortlist of ten names. Some were suggested by staff, others by people on Facebook. We have a collecting box in the entrance hall. People can...

Who will look after your Mum and Dad when they need full-time care? Research has found that many of us would shy away from bringing up the topic, and wouldn’t look after our parents if faced with the decision.

An increase in the ageing population, who are more dependent on those around them means UK care services are in high demand, and new research has today confirmed that there is a worrying trend emerging. More than two thirds (67%) of adults worry about what will happen to their parents as they get older, yet a third (32%) of Brits wouldn’t look after their parents when they...

Grecians defeated by Swansea City

Exeter City succumbed to a 2-0 friendly defeat at St James Park against Premier League opposition in the shape of Swansea City.

City’s creative power certainly tested Swansea’s defence, but ultimately quality prevailed in the scoreline.

Goals either side of the break by Bafetimbi Gomis and Josh Sheehan were enough for the visitors to seal a pre-season win at the Park, although David Wheeler hit the bar in the first half too.

Under-18 midfielder Alex Byrne was again named in the squad, as he took a seat on the bench next to trialist Christian Ribeiro.
