D&C Police staff face salary cuts

Devon and Cornwall Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) have been in negotiations with the three recognised trade unions in relation to a new grading and pay proposal for all police staff. Warnings of dangerous A30 queues

Police are warning motorists of potential congestion on the A30 in the Okehampton area this summer. The temporary closure of Sourton Service Station for refurbishment is likely to cause congestion at Belstone Services in the coming weeks. Traffic signs are in place warning motorists to slow down, including one at Whiddon Down, the junction prior to Belstone Services. As part of Ashfords' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, it is hoped the new Ashfords' bee colony will thrive, and help pollinate flowers and shrubs in the area around the Sowton Industrial Estate.

Everys Solicitors’ agriculture and rural affairs team were on hand to welcome existing and potential clients to the Honiton Show.

The firm set up its base amid the Honiton & District Agricultural Association’s 140-acre site in the heart of the East Devon countryside.

Dartmoor National Park scenery goes wireless

Two major projects to bury overhead power cables and enhance the landscape of the Dartmoor National Park have been completed in a joint project between Western Power Distribution, the South West Protected Landscapes Forum, and Dartmoor National Park Authority.

The two schemes on Holne Moor and Walkhampton Common have removed nearly 6km of overhead lines between them from open moorland.

Gwent Police are appealing for information to identify a woman (pictured) who walked into the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 7 August).

She attended the Accident and Emergency Department at the hospital just after midnight although it is not known how she got there. She has no identification documents on her and can't recall any of her personal details.
