A survey of working age adults has found that almost 3 quarters of the population are aware of automatic enrolment, the flagship government policy which just last week marked the milestone of seeing 4 million people brought into workplace pension schemes.
It follows an advertising push by the government to encourage people to save more for the future, featuring well known business figures including Dragons’ Den investor Theo Paphitis and vice-chairman of West Ham United and The Apprentice star Karren Brady.
The poll, conducted by Ipsos MORI on behalf of the Department for...

And as our exclusive back stage picture shows, one of Snoop's entourage, Kurupt from the Dogg Pound (second left) raised a toast to a successful night afterwards.
Six years ago Sam Sweeney, fiddle player with Bellowhead, bought a violin in Oxford. It had all the appearance of a new instrument but the label inside gave the date 1915 and the name Richard S Howard.
Research revealed that the violin had been made – but never finished – by a luthier and some-time music hall performer from Leeds called Richard Spencer Howard. He had been conscripted in 1916 at the age of 35 and two years later was killed during the battle of Messines Ridge. His violin had been left unfinished in his workshop. The pieces were given to his daughter Rose in a manila...

Public Health England (PHE) is urging new students (freshers) to ensure they get vaccinated against meningococcal C (MenC) infection before beginning university in September.
In the UK, all children are offered MenC vaccine to protect them against MenC infection but, as the protection offered by the vaccine can wane, a booster for teenagers was added last year. For the next few years, university freshers will also be eligible for vaccination, until the teenagers who have had the booster reach university age.
Dr Shamez Ladhani, an expert on meningococcal disease for PHE,...

As we come out of the summer holidays and back to business, how would it be if we could maintain that ‘holiday feeling’ where you feel great and your energy levels soar?
Because taking care of your body isn’t just good for the beach, it’s good for business too.
Having all the ideas in the world is no good if you don’t have the energy to implement them or the vitality to enjoy the success you have.
It’s often said that only time we really take care of our health is when we don’t have it anymore. Speak to anyone with a life-threatening or debilitating illness and they...
Zoo keepers at Living Coasts in Torquay are teaching a tiny seal pup how to swim.
She had to be hand reared because her mother Grace was unable to produce milk. Now, keeper Libor Mach has taken to the water to give her swimming lessons.
But how do you teach a seal pup to swim? Living Coasts’ Clare Rugg explained: “In the wild the mother would simply take them into the water and keep them afloat until they got the hang of it. So we have to do pretty much the same!
“She has a natural instinct but needs Libor, her surrogate mother, for confidence. She can’t get in or...
