Flybe announces partnership with Avios

Europe’s largest regional airline, Flybe, has announced a significant new partnership with Avios, part of International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways, Iberia and Vueling.

The milestone agreement will take effect from Monday 27 October 2014 and marks another step by Flybe to offer more benefits to its customers, adding value to their flight purchase and providing a broader selection of redemption opportunities for points earned through frequent travel.

Campaigners to take action against TTIP

Devon campaigners will take to the streets of Exeter tomorrow (Saturday 11 October) to raise awareness of the Government’s backing of a secretive trade deal, known as the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

The day of action will be one of hundreds taking place across Europe.

Exeter Junior Chamber, part of Exeter Chamber of Commerce, is holding its next event at Exeter Library on Tuesday 21 October, 4pm-6pm. The event will be a training session with Business Coach Judy Salmon on how to ‘manage and present well at meetings’.

The training session, aimed at young professionals aged between 20-35 years old, will cover important aspects of presenting at meetings including how to communicate effectively, structure information and ensure success.

Residents in Devon are being invited to share their views on the County Council’s plans to make savings to its waste management service.

The changes, which could save the service around £265,000 next year, are part of the £100 million savings Devon County Council has to make by 2017 in response to spending reductions imposed by the Government.

Planning for emergencies in Mid Devon

A Planning for Emergencies Fair has been organised for residents of Mid Devon.

This is so that individuals and communities can plan should a major emergency event occur to them or in their community.
