The search is on for Britain’s National Bird – it’s a chance for people in Devon to vote for their favourite bird.

Recently redeveloped Exeter venue Sandy Park has added another new event to their calendar, Darts at the Park.

This will be an evening of darts not to be missed with legends of the game Eric Bristow and Keith Deller, hosted by ‘The Voice’ Russ Bray, on Thursday, 27th November.

Sandy Park, home of Aviva Premiership rugby team the Exeter Chiefs, has undergone a £10 million overhaul in 2014 and as a result, is able to host a wider variety of events and conferences.

Pamper evening raises £460 for bike heroes

An evening of indulgence at Otter Nurseries was held in aid of an emergency courier charity.

Around 80 guests came along to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine, three delicious mini desserts and a raft of other delights including mini massages by Butterflies Studio.

The evening was organised by the garden centre to raise funds for the Devon Freewheelers, which provides a free, out-of-hours service to the NHS delivering medical necessities including blood and tissue samples.

Clyst St Mary Primary School children made a very special visit to Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park’s pumpkin field on Friday last week (3 October).

Mrs Herbert and her Year 2 class were transported by tractor and trailer to a secret location where 22,000 pumpkins scatter the East Devon countryside.

Police appeal following spate of burglaries

Police in Mid Devon are appealing for information following a number of house burglaries which may be connected. The first occurred sometime between Tuesday 30 September and Thursday 2 October at a property in Bramford Speke.

A garage at the property was entered and a ‘Karakoram’ mountain bike valued at £900 was stolen. Sometime on Tuesday 8 October a property at Three Horse Shoes, Cowley near Exeter was entered via an insecure front door whilst the occupant was in the rear garden.
