Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park is inviting all guests to ‘be a hero’ on Friday 14th November to support BBC Children in Need as part of the charity’s #CaptainCostume campaign.

Fraudsters have contacted residents informing them that they may be eligible for a Council Tax refund, before asking them for their bank account details.
Any resident who has given their account or card details to a caller like this should contact their bank immediately. The caller has then said they will process their refund if they provide their bank account details. Luckily none of them parted with their bank account details.

The number of Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) claimants in Devon has fallen to a record low again in October, in line with the national trend. Total claimants now stand at 4,118, or 0.9% of the working age population, representing a further fall of 105 claimants from September.
At a district level, overall JSA claimant numbers fell across the County with the exception of East Devon, which experienced a very small increase between September and October. A fearless Exeter granddad is still skydiving - despite having a terminal illness.
Sonny Hepburn, 71, was given 6-12 months to live last September 2013 after being diagnosed with cancer but continues to skydive after recovering from his chemotherapy sessions.
Skydiver Peter Brookes said: “I have the privilege to call Sonny a good friend and so do my two boys Michael and William. They are only three and four but already see how being positive can change our own lives and the lives of others around us. What an amazing role model Sonny is for the next generation.

The annual Carer Celebration Awards took place at County Hall in Exeter where over 60 carers received a certificate of appreciation.
