Devon has seen a significant increase in the number of two-year-olds accessing free childcare and early learning thanks to the County Council’s 2gether funding programme.

The Met Office has issued a fresh weather warning as heavy snow is forecast to hit Devon this weekend, with “blizzard conditions” predicted in parts of the region.
The warning is valid for the whole of Sunday and Monday.

Staff and volunteers at A la Ronde, the quirky sixteen-sided house near Exmouth, are delighted to announce that they will be reopening for the 2015 season on Saturday 31 January.
On that day, visitors can join the Mayor and Town Crier of Exmouth for the grand opening; and they will also be entered into a free prize draw to win a cream tea in A la Ronde’s tea room.

The Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership has agreed an expansion to its Growth Deal with the Government which will see an extra £65.2m invested in Heart of the South West between 2016 and 2021.
This is in addition to the £130.3m of funding committed by the Government on 7 July 2014. Over the lifetime of its Deal (2015-2021) the Local Enterprise Partnership estimates that up to 22,000 new jobs could be created, 11,000 new homes built and that it has the potential to generate £260m public and private investment.
Shoppers in East Devon are being offered a special all-day winter parking deal by East Devon District Council in all its car parks until the 28 February 2015.
Any £2 ticket purchased after 10am can be used in any East Devon District Council pay and display car park for the rest of the day (excluding Parkmobile payments).
The ticket will show the £2 payment, as well as the length of time for which the ticket would usually be valid. Although the winter parking offer extends to the whole day, it won't be printed on the ticket.
