Headway Devon’s popular Autumn Bazaar and Coffee Morning will be returning to the Open Door Centre on Church Street in Exmouth on Thursday 29th October. Angela Doughty (Cathedral Archivist, 1987-2011) started indexing the Dean and Chapter’s minute books over 25 years ago. To date she has extracted hundreds of entries relating to music and musicians between 1600 and 1814. Join Angela at this informal talk as she entertains and informs you with tales of musical life at Exeter Cathedral in the 18th-21st centuries.

A Devon cricket enthusiast who has spent 38 years as a player and administrator with Thorverton Cricket Club has been recognised on a national scale by winning an OSCA (Outstanding Service to Cricket Award) in the category of ‘Heartbeat of the Club’.

Anyone who rents a property and wants to find out more about their rights can attend an open day on Monday 26 October.

The drop-in event has been organised by the Exeter Private Rental Forum and will be held in Bedford Square, Princesshay, between 11am and 2pm.

Tarka takes Exeter by storm

Exeter Cathedral was transformed into a rural scene on Tuesday evening when HRH the Countess of Wessex attended the first night performance of Tarka the Opera, a specially commissioned work for the Two Moors Festival.

The audience were treated to a cast of professional musicians and singers alongside the Dorchester Choral Society and school children from four Exeter schools in a two hour performance of the opera.
