Botha ‘excited’ to be back

Chrysander Botha says he’s “excited” to be back at Sandy Park as prepares to line-up for Namibia in their latest Rugby World Cup encounter against Tonga today (4.45pm).

Not since October last year – when London Irish were the visitors in the Aviva Premiership – has the 27-year-old featured in a competitive fixture at the Exeter stadium.

A sickening broken leg and dislocated ankle, sustained whilst on international duty against Canada last November, cut short Botha’s maiden campaign with the Exeter Chiefs following a promising start.

Trust to hold two nurse open days in October

THE NHS Trust that manages Exeter Community Hospital and local community health and social care teams is aiming to recruit more nurses when it holds two open days in October.

The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for experienced and newly-qualified nurses to work across its acute and community services.

There are a number of opportunities to work at community hospitals and in the community teams that support up to 7,000 patients in their own homes, as well as at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple.

“Plan your journey” is the message to rugby fans and commuters in Exeter, ahead of this Tuesday’s Rugby World Cup 2015 match at Sandy Park.

Tonga will be playing Namibia on Tuesday 29 September in the first of three matches to be hosted at the Exeter Chiefs’ stadium.

With the kick-off at 4:45pm on Tuesday, transport links in and around Exeter are likely to be congested, so match ticket holders are being urged to get to the ground in plenty of time. Firm donates IT equipment to Exeter Foyer

Exeter-based accountancy firm Simpkins Edwards has donated a variety of IT equipment, including 44 PC screens, to Exeter Foyer to be used by its young residents as part of their work, training and educational programmes.

The equipment, which has previously been used by Simpkins Edwards but is in good condition, was donated to the Foyer as part of Simpkins Edwards’ commitment to environmental and community initiatives.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published its final recommendations for new electoral arrangements for Exeter City Council.

Hospiscare’s amazing fundraiser, Norman Croucher has done it again!

Over the summer, after chemotherapy,radiotherapy and a major operation resulting in a permanent colostomy because of bowel cancer, the 75-year-old double leg amputee has returned to the French Alps and climbed four mountains.

Norman is raising money for us and says this gives him a great sense of purpose; the total so far is nearly £8,000.
