A better life without fossil fuels: Is it possible? A group of community organizations in Exeter think it is.

In the lead up to the Paris climate change negotiations starting this month, Alternatiba Exeter is creating a ‘Village of Alternatives’ on Saturday 21st November, demonstrating how a low carbon life can also be better.

Local projects in energy and economics, health initiatives, community farms and others are coming together and inviting the public to come in and see. These will all be on show at Southernhay United Reformed Church Hall from 11am.

Santa Tour & Christmas Bazaar

Residents in Exminster are getting ready for Exminster Pre-school’s famous Santa Tour and Christmas Bazaar!

On Friday 4th December, Santa will tour the village in style, starting at the Stowey Arms at 4.30pm, stopping at Coffee on the Corner for mulled wine and mince pies at 5pm, then on to the Royal Oak for the grand finale.

City's new leisure plans go on show

A public exhibition at Exeter’s Guildhall will show progress on plans to deliver a new sustainable Leisure Centre to replace Pyramids in the heart of the city.

Exeter Active, the City Council’s leisure centre project, is taking shape, and initial designs for the complex will go on display at the Guildhall at the end of this month (November).

The project will see the current bus and coach park at Paris Street redeveloped to deliver two swimming pools, fitness suite, health spa, exercise studios, café and crèche contained within the UK’s first ultra-sustainable “Passivhaus”...

Exeter music project awarded community grant

Bluebird Care, an Exeter and East Devon based home care agency have awarded a grant of £500 to the Soundwaves Music Project to enable them to purchase new musical instruments so they can continue providing music activities and help unlock the creative potential for adults with and without learning difficulties.

Bluebird Care opened in Exeter in 2011 and has, ever since, been working hard to support other organisations across Exeter as well as providing a daily care service to local people.

The Exeter PA Network enjoyed a cheeky Monday night wine tasting in Circa 1924’s ‘Bootleg Bar’, hosted by James Leach from Charles Steevenson Wines. Members of the networking group were taken through a selection from the restaurants’ wine list, carefully chosen to complement the steak and seafood menu. Saturday 12th December 2015 sees the launch of this years Exeter Axhayes adoption centre annual Santa Paws Appeal.

The launch coincides at their ever popular Coffee morning.
