Exeter Raspberry Jam

The next Exeter Raspberry Jam will take place on Saturday 4th June in the Rougemont Room at Exeter Library between 10:00 – 12:00.

As usual there will be lots to do, plenty of help and advice and pis to play with, we’ll also have some BBC Micro:bits and Arduinos.

As part of the this we are offering a quick 30 minute workshop that will show you how to connect a DS18B20 Digital Temperature Sensor on the Raspberry Pi and take measurements.

This session will cover protocols, modifying the configuration of your Pi to load drivers, reading data from files and using a code...

Training day: freshwater invertebrates and water quality

A full-day course with an experienced ecologist and tutor

What does a stream full of worms, blood worms and water lice compared with one containing stone flies, mayflies and caddis flies tell us about their relative water qualities?

Led by experienced ecologist and tutor Adrian Bayley, this day course will give you an insight into the world of freshwater life, and how species are adapted to different aquatic systems.

By the end of the day you'll be able to make assessments of water quality based on the invertebrates you find.

Wildnight on the wetlands

See what's on the Wetlands at night

Learn how to use bat detectors, keep an eye out for hunting owls and listen for the night time sounds of the many residents of Seaton wetlands.

At the end of the walk we'll join up with the local bat group and hopefully see bats up close.
