South West food entrepreneurs have a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the West Country’s latest culinary hub.

The Find a Foodie campaign, from the team behind Exeter’s new and exciting Queen Street dining quarter, has set out to discover the next big thing in the region’s thriving food and drink sector.

The successful enterprise will receive an impressive support package, including a 3-month free occupancy of the quarter’s new purpose built kiosk, and expert business, marketing and mentoring support.

The search has received a great response already, from emerging regional businesses keen to share in the success of the region’s most hotly anticipated dining destination.

Some of the expressions of interests received so far, include foodies specialising in Devon crab, vegan ice cream, sushi, southern Italian dishes, cupcakes and bakes, locally sourced fine dining, superfoods, hummus, macaroni cheese, stuffed rolls, Mexican dishes and locally sourced burgers.

The Queen Street quarter, due to open early Autumn, will feature an eclectic mix of brand names including Absurd Bird, Comptoir Libanais, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), Grillstock, KuPP, The Stable. The Terrace and Turtle Bay. The dining quarter will also showcase wonderful and welcoming new open air spaces designed especially for food events, markets and entertainment.

The launch of the restaurant quarter is the latest exciting development in Exeter’s home-grown food revolution. In addition to having a great mix of independents and national brand names, the city also boasts the annual Festival of South West Food and Drink, the brainchild of celebrity chef Michael Caines OBE. Devon’s food culture is growing in popularity, gaining regional and national recognition for its choice of unique food producers and well know chefs and eateries.

Queen Street is keen to capitalise on this success and discover an entrepreneur with great energy and drive and an enterprising idea, signature dish or innovative food product. It could be an individual or team, an established small independent business or fledging enterprise. Whatever the idea, Queen Street wants to help an exciting entrepreneur on the road to leaving a lasting legacy.
