Council flats to benefit from colourful community artwork

Tenants living in one of East Devon District Council’s block of flats in Cheshire Road, Exmouth will now be greeted by a colourful mural, which has been mounted on the wall of the communal entrance.

The artwork, which was created by several families who attended the East Devon Estate Management team’s Spring fun day, held earlier this year at Bassetts Farm Primary School, has been placed between protective sheets of fire retardant Perspex.

Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering a Bulgarian woman who was living in Exeter.

Gergana Prodonova (pictured) was reported missing on Monday 8th August after she has failed to turn up for work shifts over the weekend. She was last seen at a food store in Sidwell Street in Exeter at around 8pm on Thursday 4th August.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a 42-year-old Bulgarian man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Vulnerable men assaulted in Tiverton

Police are investigating an allegation of assault on two men with learning disabilities and their male carer in Tiverton.

The assault took place in People’s Park between 2.30-3pm on Wednesday 3rd August and it is believed that this was witnessed by several members of the public.

A University of Exeter marine biologist has won a prestigious award for his world-class work in the field of fish ecology.

Devon and Cornwall Police have made an urgent appeal to the public to help them trace the movements and whereabouts of a 38-year-old Bulgarian woman.
