Junior School sings and signs raising over £200 for deaf health charity

Exeter Junior School pupils performed a special song composed in support of Sign Health and raised over £200 for the deaf health charity.

Not only did pupils sing the song fantastically well they also simultaneously signed it, using international sign language.

The song, entitled 'Together', conveys the message that it is through working together and supporting one another that we make the world a better place.

Music teacher Tina Guthrie said pupils worked on the singing and the signing in their music lessons.

Devon residents can win a composting bin if they pledge online to recycle their kitchen and garden waste.

One hundred composting bins and other prizes, including a wormery, a food waste gadget kit and a gardening hamper can be won in the draw which closes on Sunday 2 April 2017.

Composting is the most effective way to reduce waste and help the planet, and at least 30% of the contents in an average household bin can be composted.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of National Apprenticeship Week, to celebrate, the National Careers Service is traveling across the South West on their Apprenticeship Bus Roadshow.

Exeter Scouts and Guides will be “Riding along on the crest of a wave” again this Easter, as Exeter Gang Show returns to the Barnfield Theatre, Exeter from the 5th to the 8th April 2017.

Now in its 33rd year, the show will be packed full of popular songs, expert choreography and laugh out load sketches, and has everything to keep audience members of any age entertained.

The cast of almost 70 Cubs, Brownies, Scouts, Guides, Explorer Scouts, Rangers and Leaders aged nine and over have been rehearsing intensively since the beginning of the year.

Exeter City fell to their first defeat in five games as they surrendered a goal advantage away at Hartlepool United.

It’s a Knock Out is returning to Exeter this year in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity on Saturday 2nd September at Topsham Rugby Club.

Come and take part in this amazing day – teams of 10 are needed to take part.

The entry will be capped at 72 teams – 720 participants who must be over 17 years of age.
