Visit Exeter - a new brand for the city - is being launched today (29 March).

Exeter City Council’s tourism team will launch its new identity at the iconic Royal Albert Memorial Museum.

Formerly marketed as part of the Heart of Devon Tourism Partnership, a new brand has been developed for Exeter, celebrating the diversity of experiences on offer here, and helping Exeter on its journey as one of the South West’s best love cities.

The launch will focus on eight fantastic experiences, celebrating not only the tradition and heritage the city is often best known for, but also the shopping, food and drink, lifestyle, activity, relaxation, business, culture and nightlife.

Catherine Hill, Tourism & Sport Manager at Exeter City Council said: “The city has so much more than ever before to offer people of all ages and with a range of interests. We want people to know all of the great things that they can do on their visit to Exeter.

“For us this event is just the start, it’s about getting the people of Exeter behind our campaigns and sharing our fantastic city with the rest of the world. We want to stray from the ordinary and have carefully selected the showcase organisations, to give a good representation of the interesting and exciting developments in the city.”

The launch event is open to a range of leading business professionals and people working within tourism in the region. People can expect a whole host of other events and celebrations in the coming months that will be open to the public.

Catherine Hill added: “The change of brand will provide an exciting opportunity for Exeter businesses, allowing for consolidation of marketing activity and to showcase each type of business in their own right. Businesses will be able to sign up to become a member of Visit Exeter and feature on the Visit Exeter website, due to be relaunched next month.”
