Appeal for old computers

What do you keep just in case? Is it a safe little black dress that you wear when you are feeling no-so-slim, is it those bits of wood in the shed which are sure to come in handy someday, or is it an old PC or laptop? Unfortunately a computer, unlike the others has a sell by date. Whilst there will always be someone in need of wood or a lovely black dress, the computer industry is constantly moving forward with faster processor speeds, better graphics and larger memories. Your old IT can quickly become useless. With an average 3-4 year cycle of computers huge numbers of computers are being...

The programme follows nine men as they attempt a 4,000-mile trip on a tiny wooden boat using traditional navigation equipment and surviving off the same meagre rations as Bligh’s crew.

In truth, it was a backs-to-walls display, at times, for City as they defended superbly but they had moments of quality on the break and had the visitors made more of the few chances they created at the start of the second half they could have come away with all three points.

City manager Paul...

A dog-loving nine-year-old has raised hundreds of pounds for homeless hounds after challenging herself to a 20-mile sponsored walk around the Devon countryside. Faith Boxer, from Honiton, walked 20 miles over several weeks after splitting the mileage into four, five-mile stints with the support of her Gran, who helped her organise the whole thing and plan her route.
