RD&E physio and three team-mates set to take on challenge of a lifetime

An RD&E physiotherapist and three other Exeter women are set to take on the challenge of their lives by rowing more than 3,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean in record time.

Rosalind West, a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust, will be joined by team-mates student Abby Jones, Scientific Consultant Kate Salmon and Landscape Architect Kirsty Barker to take on the gruelling Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in December 2018.

Charity calls for volunteers to help with Santa Run

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is delighted to be one of the chosen charities for the Exeter City Community Trust Santa Run in Exeter on Sunday 3rd December, and is looking for volunteers to help marshal the event.

Volunteers would be needed from 8.00am – 10.30am on the day of the run which starts and finishes in Princesshay, so you can then continue the festive spirit with a bit of Christmas shopping at the Christmas market afterwards!

Sunday 8th October will see the much anticipated Muddifords Cheese five-mile Fun Run take place.

Over the past three months Muddifords Court Country House, owned by Nicky Baker have been eagerly creating a family fun day for all, in aid of dementia awareness.

Nicky has been directly affected by dementia with both her parents living and lived with the disease. Nicky was keen to support the Exeter Dementia Action Alliance in her quest to reduce the stigma and increase wider awareness in the community and beyond in whichever way she can.

YMCA Exeter Job Club staff and their trained volunteers are teaming together with professionals from agencies and employers, on Wednesday 11th October at Belmont Chapel, for their Big Job Club – a day which helps to connect job seekers with employers and help with everything from CV writing to job applications.

YMCA Exeter has been offering job clubs in the community for the last eight years, but with their Big Lottery Funding coming to a close at the end of the year, the charity wants to encourage more people to make use of their all-age service while it is still available....
