Hundreds of runners to line up for the Exeter marathon

Runners from across the country – and further afield – will be taking to the streets of the city this Sunday for the Exeter Marathon.

A total of 500 people have signed up for Exeter’s only marathon and 10k race – which take place this Sunday – and they include a runner from the USA who is flying in just for the event.

Hundreds of spectators are expected to support the event, which starts from the home of Exeter City FC, St James Park, before heading down to the River Exe. The majority of the route is along the River Exe and the canal offering some beautiful viewing points...

Exeter College is delighted to announce that Engineering Apprentice, Tobias Cowan, from Sampford Peverell, has been invited to attend the Royal Wedding this weekend.

Tobias is a Level 3 Apprentice with Hepco Motion at its Tiverton-based engineering centre.

City turned all colours of the rainbow for the best Exeter Pride to-date

THE 10th Exeter Pride, which turned the City rainbow-coloured on Saturday, May 12, has been hailed as the biggest and best yet.

More than 7,000 people showed their support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning (LGBTQ+) communities in the region by taking part or attending.

Thousands of people took part in the march from the St Sidwell Community Centre, down Exeter High Street and along Queen Street into Northernhay Gardens.

It was the most colourful march yet, with two 50-metre rainbow flags carried by hundreds of volunteers.

Exeter Chiefs forward Sam Simmonds has been named the ‘Land Rover Discovery of The Season’ for the 2017/18 season, at this year’s Aviva Premiership Rugby awards.

The Land Rover Discovery of the Season award recognises the most impressive young player in Aviva Premiership Rugby each season and rewards them for their outstanding contribution to the competition.

Nominees for the award had to be 23 years old or younger on 1st September 2017, and have played at least eight Aviva Premiership Rugby matches this season and not received full international caps prior to 2017....

A new play inspired by an imagined meeting between two great leaders of the women’s suffrage campaign will be performed at Exeter Phoenix. The Cause depicts the explosive meeting of minds when Millicent Fawcett and Emmeline Pankhurst come together at a time when campaigns for women’s rights were at their most revolutionary and embattled.

Dementia-friendly Red Coat guided tours of Exeter look set to be introduced in the city.
