Paintings, ceramics, sculpture and glass will be exhibited in Torquay this August.

From August 25 to 31 fingerpaintings by Saskia Skoric will hang alongside nautical paintings by Len Murrell and landscapes and seascapes by Lynda Kettle, former vice president of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) and chair of Sidmouth Art Society. Birthday skydive in memory of Exeter Lion

The sky is the limit for Exeter Lions Club President Julian Chadwick who is taking up the challenge of lifetime and making a tandem skydive from 10,000 feet in aid of The Lions International Blood Research Appeal (LIBRA) – a charity which raises funds to tackle blood cancers.

Julian is set to make his sponsored jump on his 72nd birthday on 1st July 2018 at the Dunkeswell Aerodrome. He is making the special birthday jump in memory of the well-known Exeter Lion President Mike Welsh who sadly died of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

Peter Randall-Page exhibits at Castle Drogo

This summer, Castle Drogo is exhibiting a collection of prints, drawings and sculptures by Royal Academician Peter Randall-Page.

The prints and drawings focus on observations of the natural world and include delicate linocuts of botanical and animal subjects. Recent prints such as Honeysuckle, Fig Tree, Spiders and Frogs are shown alongside Peter’s early studies of exquisite seed pods. One of the highlights of the exhibition is Randall-Page’s 7m wide ‘Rorschach Screen’ with its mirror image panels of drawings that reference the bi-lateral symmetry of Rorschach ink blots. Views wanted on Stover Country Park Heritage Lottery Fund application

Funding bid proposals to improve visitor facilities at Stover Country Park are to go on show this weekend (Saturday 30 June and Sunday 1 July).

Devon County Council is preparing to apply to the Heritage Lottery Fund to help restore the park’s historic heritage and improve visitor facilities over the next five years.

Key elements of the project include restoring Stover Lake to a healthy water body by removing contaminated silt, restoring two Grade Two listed buildings, creating new footpaths and walking routes for visitors and the possible provision of a café.
