A £1.3 million refurbishment programme is underway on part of the University of Exeter’s North Cloisters building, following the appointment of construction and infrastructure company Morgan Sindall. New research has revealed that 45% of people in the South West have felt bullied by a boss throughout their careers, and a huge 87% said they would confront their boss if they thought they were in the wrong.

The survey of more than 1,000 employees was carried out by UK printing supply company TonerGiant . Interestingly, 42% of the South West see their boss as a friend, but not a close one.

A fiesta of football for city youngsters

More than 100 children got to meet their Exeter City idols at a special Train with the Team Day.

The event, which was organised by Exeter CITY Community Trust and the Junior Grecian Committee, saw members of the Junior Grecians take over the club’s Cliff Hill Training Ground.

YMCA residents launch crowdfunding campaign ahead of pop-up café

Young residents living at YMCA Exeter have launched a crowdfunding campaign to support their pop-up café initiative this August in Princesshay.

Okehampton College in Okehampton Devon is to receive dedicated, specialist support to help improve outcomes for all children vulnerable to underachievement thanks to Achievement for All and Devonshire Freemasons.

Targeting litter and dog fouling in Exeter

Litter louts and people who fail to pick up after their dogs are to be targeted in Exeter. The move follows calls from the public asking the City Council to take more action. As part of a 12-month pilot project, enforcement company 3GS have been contracted to fine those who deliberately drop litter or fail to clear up after their dogs. Culprits will be issued with £100 fines, which can be reduced to £65 for littering or £60 for dog fouling, if paid within 10 days. The company are not on any targets.
