Firework displays reinforce a sense of community

Heading out into the community for a firework display is something many of us love to do, according to a survey carried out by Barratt Homes, which is building homes across Exeter.

Questioning 2,000 people from across the region, the five star housebuilder was keen to discover whether we prefer fireworks at home or join community events - particularly as it is creating new communities across the local area.

Princesshay captures Christmas magic at late night shopping experiences

Princesshay has announced five top street performance acts to appear at its late-night shopping Thursdays.

The illuminated entertainment will bring the centre to life with jaw-dropping aerial acrobatics from Heliosphere and the incredible light-up drummers, Spark.

A grant scheme supporting rural businesses in parts of Devon and Somerset has awarded more than £1.5 million of funding over the past two years - becoming the top performing LEADER Local Action Group in the country.

Cycle club takes fundraising efforts to new heights

An Exeter cycle group has raised record amounts of money for its chosen charity this year.

The BGE Cycling Club has donated £2,018 to FORCE Cancer Charity from various activities throughout the last 12 months.

Club members gathered at the charity’s headquarters for their final Cadence Café ride of the year when they presented a cheque for £1,725, plus money raised on the day and topped up to match the year - 2018.

BGE – Beers, Gears and Engineers – was founded by employees at Howmet in Exeter in memory of Colin Hooker, who died from cancer.

Having received significant funding from an international investor, Exeter based tech company Re-flow has seen major growth over the last quarter, including doubling operational staff, new offices and the onboarding of a series of national clients. 2019 is set to be very bright for the company and there is a call for more talent to come and join them.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rarely seen masterpiece “Aspects of Love” is to be staged in an exciting new production by the recently formed theatrical production company EX3 Productions. The company, established by local musical director Jeremy Rawlings, secured the rights after weeks of negotiations with the Really Useful Group.
