Help to Buy speeds up buying a home in Exeter

New research from local housebuilder Barratt Homes shows that the government’s Help to Buy scheme can knock more than three years off the time it takes to get on the property ladder.

Barratt, which is building new homes at developments across Exeter, surveyed around 1,600 of its customers who had used Help to Buy to get their views on the scheme. Sparx, an Exeter-based learning technology company, has been shortlisted for two Education Resource Awards, one in recognition of its collaboration with the Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust and a second for its innovative use of technology in education.

Devon choirs unite against dementia with charity single

Two Devon-based rock and pop choirs have united to produce a single in a bid to raise money for charity.

90 singers from rock and pop choirs DyNaMix, based in Barnstaple, and the Exeter-based Rhythm of Life Choir recently travelled 300 miles to a studio in Swindon to record an original song, When We Stand Together. All proceeds of the single, written and produced by Choir Director Jax Gibbins, will be donated to Alzheimer’s Society.
