Blue Flags will be flying high above the beaches of Sidmouth and Exmouth from this week and these beaches, along with Seaton and Budleigh have also won prestigious Seaside Awards too ranking them among England’s best in the country.

Environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy give the awards in recognition of beaches in England that achieve the highest standards of beach management and, in the case of bathing beaches, meet the required standards for water quality.

RSPCA braces for summer surge in abandonments after 282 calls in Devon last year

The RSPCA is bracing itself for a surge in abandoned animals and fears the fallout from the Covid crisis could see more owners struggling to keep their pets.

Typically, the charity sees abandonment peak in the summer months. Between June and August 2019, 16,519 animals were reported abandoned to the RSPCA which accounts for 30% of all animals reported abandoned that year.

During the summer months the charity received 282 reports about dumped animals in Devon.

A DEVON care company is urging anyone aged 20-39 who has been made redundant from a customer-facing role in Exeter to get in touch as their skills are needed in its industry (July 2020).

Drivers are being asked to help deliver a network of electric vehicle (EV) charging points across Devon by revealing their driving habits and attitudes towards EV in an online questionnaire.
