Following from the success of the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme, Exeter office company Offices.co.uk is asking the Government to give free lunches to all office workers to encourage them to return to work with the “Lunch is on us” Campaign.

“Exeter is struggling; cafes and sandwich shops empty, trains and buses underused – we want the Government to incentivise their use by providing lunch and travel vouchers. It’s not dissimilar to the Eat Out scheme, and just as important, possibly more so”, explains Jonathan Ratcliffe from Exeter Office company Offices.co.uk

Local children are being urged to learn lifelong gas safety lessons this summer, while being in with a chance of winning a national competition.

Wales & West Utilities is calling upon local children to come up with something creative that raises awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) – known as the ‘silent killer’ because you can’t see it, smell it or taste it – ahead of the 30 September deadline.

The gas emergency and pipeline service, which runs the annual ‘Get Creative, Be Safe’ competition in Wales and the south west of England, is looking for...

Devon’s Deputy Director of Public Health has issued guidance to commuters and other car sharers as they head back to work or are out and about.

With people asked not to use public transport if possible, some are opting to share lifts to work with friends and colleagues. Young people might also be sharing lifts to places during the holiday period.

Most non-drivers don’t have a clue how to tell if a car is about to reverse into them, new research has found.

Only 44 per cent of non-drivers surveyed by YouGov for Injury Prevention Week (17-21 August) knew to look out for reverse lights.

“When walking behind a parked car everyone should be aware that it is about to reverse towards you when those white lights come on,” said Sam Elsby, president of APIL, a national not-for-profit group which hosts Injury Prevention Week.

Some of the more worrying responses to the survey question about how to tell if a vehicle...

If you never do something wrong, then you never learn how to do it right. It is said there’s no teacher like experience but we only learn from experience if we learn from our mistakes. And while beginner’s luck can get you so far, it won’t help you to understand what it is you’re doing, or enable you to get better at doing it.

Forex trading is an example of a field where beginners often have a run of success despite their inexperience. Buying and selling foreign currency pairs can seem deceptively simple, and it’s possible to carry on for a reasonable amount of time under the...

Park staff at Cofton Holidays are now providing colourful, high-pitched duck whistles to help guests staying with them to maintain social distancing while enjoying the countryside trail of South Devon.

Available to guests, the whistles are being introduced by ‘quackers’ staff at the popular holiday park in a bid to help visitors alert others to their presence. Holidaymakers can blow hard on the whistles to help them maintain a good social distance from others when exploring the surrounding countryside, particularly when the path ahead is unclear, such as in dense woodland or when...
