The Ivy Exeter Brasserie celebrated five years of memorable dining and hospitality in the heart of Exeter, commemorating the occasion with an evening soiree on Tuesday 9th June.

Set within the former City Bank building overlooking Exeter Cathedral, The Ivy Exeter Brasserie combines the grandeur of one of Exeter’s most distinctive buildings with all-day dining in a unique historic setting. Original features from its banking heritage, including the historic vaults, remain part of the brasserie’s character today.

Since opening in 2021, The Ivy Exeter Brasserie has brought The Ivy’s elegance, warmth and sense of occasion to the city, becoming a favourite among local residents, businesses and visitors alike. Over the past five years, it has also welcomed well-known names including Willem Dafoe, Kiefer Sutherland, Jimmy Carr, Marcus Wareing and members of Mumford & Sons, as well as local sporting figures from Exeter City Football Club and Exeter Chiefs.

From much-loved Ivy classics and seasonal dishes to menus designed for every part of the day, the brasserie offers something for every occasion, whether a relaxed weekday lunch, a celebratory meal or an evening in the city. Seasonal experiences, such as Breakfast with the Naughty Elves and Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, have also become popular fixtures in Exeter’s social calendar.

Beyond the brasserie, The Ivy Exeter Brasserie is proud to be part of the wider Exeter community, supporting local causes including neighbouring charity St Petrock’s, which helps people experiencing homelessness in the city. The restaurant is also fundraising for Hospiscare as part of its 40 Club, joining leading Devon businesses in committing to raise £1,000 each, alongside its participation in the Devon Business League with Raceworld, which raised more than £188,000 for Hospiscare last year.

Morgan Westcott, General Manager at The Ivy Exeter Brasserie, said: “Our fifth birthday is a very special moment for the team. A restaurant is built on far more than its menus or surroundings, and we are lucky to have people who bring so much care, personality and pride to what they do every day.

“Some of our team have been with us since we opened, and that sense of continuity means a great deal. We have also built wonderful relationships with guests who have returned time and again.

“Reaching five years gives us a chance to pause and say thank you to everyone who has supported us. We are excited for what comes next and look forward to continuing to be part of the city for many years to come.”

Five years on, The Ivy Exeter Brasserie is recognising not only a milestone anniversary, but the guests, team and local partnerships that have shaped its story so far.
