Topsham Table Top Museum

A unique event is being held in Topsham later this month - and it’s hoping to unlock the ‘hidden museum’ we each have in our homes.

Topsham’s Table Top Museum is an opportunity for anyone with a collection of any kind to display it for a day.

It’s the brainchild of a Topsham Museum volunteer, Joe Pearson, who says it’s an opportunity to show how we all enjoy collecting.

“There’s never been a day like this in Topsham before and we hope it proves that the idea of ‘the Museum collection’ can mean many different things - and always revealing a passion from the collectors themselves” explains Joe, who lives in the town.

“It’s open to everyone - not just Topsham people and not just people with high flying or historical collections. You can book a table free of charge and we’re keen to see everything from sports memorabilia to classics such as coins or stamps, to contemporary   trading cards such as Pokemon, or natural objects including stones or shells.”

The event will be in Topsham’s Matthews Hall from 10.30am until 4pm on Sunday October 26.

So far volunteers have promised collections of handmade puppets, painted elephant ornaments, puzzle jugs and even vintage lingerie - but there’s plenty of space for more exhibits.

“There’s no charge to display your collection and if you want to book a table just email info@topshammuseum.org.uk. We look forward to seeing your passion!” adds Joe.
