Bishop Fleming backs cancer charity
Bishop Fleming’s Exeter and Torquay offices are celebrating a successful year-long partnership with FORCE Cancer Charity, raising over £8,000 to support people affected by cancer across the region.
The collaboration formed part of the firm’s 1% for Communities initiative, launched in July 2024, which pledges to give back 1% of Bishop Fleming’s turnover through fundraising, volunteering, and community-focused projects.
Based in Exeter, FORCE Cancer Charity provides vital face-to-face support and care at its purpose-built centre, helping over 2,500 patients and families each year. The charity partnership saw Bishop Fleming organise a wide range of activities including a cream tea fundraiser, quiz night, netball tournament, and sponsorship of the Great West Run.
FORCE’s CEO, Kate Few-Singh, expressed her gratitude: “The awareness and funds raised, along with Bishop Fleming’s volunteering time, are making a huge difference. As a charity funded entirely by donations, this support enables us to welcome over 16,000 visitors annually.”
Beyond fundraising, Bishop Fleming staff volunteered their time with the charity, contributing to the firm’s 1,889 total volunteer hours across the South West and Midlands in the past year. In total, £514,325 was contributed to communities through the initiative.
Fleur Lewis, Partner at Bishop Fleming, said: “It’s been a real privilege to support FORCE and their incredible work. We’re proud of the impact we’ve made and excited to continue the partnership.”
Looking ahead, Bishop Fleming aims to raise £100,000 across its offices as the initiative expands further. The firm will also publish its fourth Impact Report, highlighting ongoing progress in responsible business.
