The Devon County Show has rewritten the ‘12 days of Christmas’ to create a unique seasonal gift card.

According to Show organisers, ‘On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me, a day at the Devon County Show!’

Show favourites including heavy horse, leaping lambs, tractors a’pullling, buzzing bees and mooing heifers all feature in the festive ditty.

Show Secretary Ollie Allen said: “We’ve had great fun putting our own words to the verse and hope everyone enjoys our Show-inspired idea.”

Ollie added: “This is a great present for young, old and everyone in between! While, for people who would love to go to the Show for all three days, Membership makes a wonderful present and for those who cannot see everything in one day, our membership offer is a bargain for visiting all three!”

The Christmas gift cards featuring the new words are available online and from the Show office until midnight on December 10; membership is also available online.

Gift Show admission prices are: Adult - £19; Over 60s - £17; Over 60s - buy one get one half price (Valid Thurs & Fri) £25.50; Child - £7.50 (on Saturday two children go free with a paying adult). Annual membership is £39 for adults and £29for young adults (18-25).

The Devon County Show will take place on May 17, 18, 19 2018 and promises an entertaining and informative celebration of amazing animals, local food, farming, crafts, flowers and country life.
