Police keen to trace heavy goods vehicle after A30 collision

Update: There is no change in the condition of the casualty.

Police have recovered the debris from the scene, which are two nearside mirrors from a heavy goods vehicle. The lorry will be a Volvo FL or FE, an LF DAY or a Renault 1818 or 2711.   Police are appealing to anyone who has any information about this type of vehicle or to dealers who may have be asked to repair such damage to call them on 101 quoting log number 0696 120213.

Earlier: Officers are appealing for help to trace a heavy goods vehicle involved in a serious injury road traffic collision which left a 42-year-old Launceston man with serious head and leg injuries.

Emergency services were called to the A30 at Temple just before 8pm on Tuesday 12th February 2013, where paramedics and members of the public had been treating the casualty. It appears that the man was walking from Bodmin towards Launceston when he was struck from behind by the lorry.

The collision left a significant amount of debris at the scene.

Investigators from the Serious Collision Unit are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it.
