Man wanted for recall to prison

Police in East Devon have issued a photograph of a man who is wanted for recall to prison.

Officers are actively looking for Simon Berkowitz, a 68-year-old man who is wanted for recall to prison after breaching his prison licence conditions.

Berkowitz (pictured) is described as white, 6ft 1in, of slim build and receding, greying hair. 

Berkowitz, who was convicted of burglary, is believed to be in East Devon area, possibly sleeping rough. He is known to have frequented the Sidmouth, Budleigh and Exmouth areas in the past. He is also known to use local buses extensively to travel around the area.

Officers are proactively following a number of lines of enquiry to ascertain his whereabouts and intend to arrest him once located.

Police would ask members of the public not to approach him but to call 101 quoting police log 419 of 17th November 2014  with any information about his whereabouts.
