Hello!

I am a student currently studying at history at Exeter University in my second year and I am also a member of the university's charity organisation RAG and I will be undertaking the challenge of completing a 7 day trek to Machu Picchu in the Peruvian Andes with a team of other volunteers to raise money for Worldwide Cancer Research. Unfortunately cancer is something that has effected almost everyone's lives in some way, which is why I have decided to undertake this challenge to help raise money for this amazingly worthy cause.

Worldwide Cancer Research's mission is to support transnational scientific research that aims to improve cancer survival or reduce cancer incidence. Their funding is not restricted to just the UK, and so this funding is vital to helping the most effective research that could be used to help those suffering with cancer all over the world.

I have set myself the target of raising £3000 and I will be fundraising throughout the year to achieve this total. Many of my fundraising events will be taking place in Exeter, and any support or donations would be eternally grateful. By writing this article I am hoping to create further exposure not only for the challenge I am going to undertake, but also for this incredible charity. I have already been contacting companies in Exeter for potential sponsorship support, and I have also set up a JustGiving page which can be found here -

Any donations made go straight to the charity and will help to make a massive difference in the fight against cancer, which is why your support is so vital! Please take the time to visit my page and to spread the word about this amazing charity.

Thank you so much,

Samantha Pavid
